This is your chance to experience the ocean and sharks like never before!
Fuvahmulah, often referred to as the "Island of Mosasaurs," is a remote and pristine island in the Maldives, known for its unique underwater biodiversity. Its crystal-clear waters are home to a thriving population of tiger sharks. These magnificent creatures, known for their distinctive stripes and powerful presence, make Fuvahmulah an extraordinary destination for freedivers and shark enthusiasts.
Explore the breathtaking underwater world of Fuvahmulah, known for its vibrant coral reefs, rich marine life, and deep drop-offs. Discover a diverse range of marine species, from colorful reef fish, to pelagic predators and majestic manta rays.
🪸 Stunning Underwater Scenery: Fuvahmulah is a paradise for divers, with vibrant coral reefs, diverse marine life, and an underwater world waiting to be explored. You'll be mesmerised by the beauty that surrounds you.
🏝️ Island Exploration: Immerse yourself in the unique culture and natural beauty of Fuvahmulah. Explore pristine beaches, lush jungles, and vibrant coral reefs.

♻️ Eco Tourism: We are committed to preserving the fragile marine ecosystems of Fuvahmulah. Your participation supports responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
This expedition is suitable for both experienced freedivers and beginner freedivers, with no certification needed, however you must be a confident swimmer (able to tread water in the open ocean for a prolonged period of time) in order to participate in the ocean-based activities.
If you are a certified scuba diver, there are also opportunities for you to swap some of your freediving sessions to scuba diving sessions (with a scuba guide, on the same boat and same locations) if you choose to do so. However, for the tiger shark sessions, we recommend sticking to freediving as you are able to come into closer contact with the tiger sharks as well as spend a longer amount of time in the water with them!
Safety is paramount on this expedition. A team of divemasters and shark experts / safety divers from Pelagic Divers Fuvahmulah will be with us every step of the way, ensuring that you have an unforgettable yet secure adventure.
Getting to Fuvahmulah is easier than you might think. Here's how:
Step 1: Fly into Malé International Airport (MLE), Maldives, which is well-connected to major international airports. Send us an email if you have any trouble booking these!
Step 2: Your expedition includes a domestic flight from Malé to Fuvahmulah. The flight is approximately 1 hour and offers stunning aerial views of the Maldives.
Step 3: Our team will be waiting at Fuvahmulah Airport to welcome you and transport you to your accommodation.
This expedition will be held in a small group, with limited spots available. This will ensure you receive the maximum time up close with the beautiful tiger sharks of Fuvahmulah. We keep our group sizes intimate to ensure a personalised and safe expedition.
