THE FADER FIT
In 2020, Fader surveyed women to identify issues with wetsuit fit and function. Results revealed 45% of women felt standard wetsuits didn’t fit, largely due to designs made for men’s body types. Straight seams and oversized panels compromise fit, neglecting women’s unique limb-to-torso ratios.
To solve this, Fader teamed with Gemma Waggstaff of GemmaLee Suits, an ex- competitive swimmer, to design wetsuits that actually fit. Inspired by Olympic racing suits, the new wetsuits feature a tight waist, flared hips, and free shoulder movement—ideal for freediving, surfing and swimming.
The Fader swim wetsuit uses carefully shaped panels and Yamamoto 39 Limestone neoprene for better flexibility, durability, and a great fit. These stretchy wetsuits offer a snug waist and comfortable hips with excellent shoulder rotation as well a great shape on your body.
Fader also created the Ocean Jewels Springsuit, fixing common issues like gaping sides and awkward shoulder fits. Fader has also redesigned open-cell freediving suits to fit women’s bodies, adjusting the torso, hood, and hips. Available in 3mm and 5mm, these suits now deliver a custom fit for women.
