Wetsuit Care

Fader wetsuits are made from high-quality neoprene and digitally printed for long-lasting durability, but exposure to salt, sun, and chlorine can affect their vibrant colours. With proper care, you can keep your suit looking great and performing at its best.

After Use:

  • Rinse your suit in fresh water immediately after use.
  • Hang to dry in the shade. If that’s not possible, hang it inside out.
  • For odour, use fabric softener in the rinse water.
  • For stains, try using white bar laundry soap.
  • Store your wetsuit on a wide hanger to maintain its shape. When traveling, fold the arms across the chest and roll the suit up.

What NOT to Do:

  • Do not leave your wetsuit in direct sunlight.
  • Never let it dry with salt residue.
  • Avoid dry cleaning, tumble drying, or machine washing.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals; only use mild soap or fabric softener.
  • Don’t hang your wetsuit on a metal hanger, or leave it folded to dry.

Donning Open-Cell Suits:

Open-cell wetsuits offer excellent thermal retention but require extra care to avoid damaging the internal layer. Here’s how to protect your suit:

  1. Remove all jewellery – Earrings, rings, or long nails can damage the internal surface.
  2. Use lubricant – Mix hair conditioner with water (1:10 or 1:20). Choose a non-allergenic, gentle conditioner.
  3. Apply lube to the suit – Pour a cup or two into the suit and slosh it around to cover all internal surfaces.
  4. Lubricate your skin – Apply the lube mix to your skin, or have someone assist you.
  5. Put on the suit – Start with one leg at a time, gently sliding it on. Use more lube if needed. Repeat for the jacket, lubricating your chest and back externally.
  6. Head and arms – Some prefer to put the head on first, others the arms. Take a deep breath and be gentle when putting on the head.
  7. Put the hood back on when taking off and fold it over only gripping on the external surface. Peel off inside out.
  8. When removing never grip the suit by the open cell neoprene

Post-Dive Care:

  • Rinse your suit in fresh water, leave it inside out to preserve the colours, and hang to dry in the shade.
  • With these simple steps, your Fader wetsuit will stay in top condition, ready for your next adventure!

Damage due to incorrect use, not using lubricant correctly, from fingernails or any other objects to the internal open cell neoprene is not covered by warranty
