SUPPORTING THE ENVIRONMENT

At Fader, we’re deeply committed to the environment and the protection of both water adventurers and sharks. Our wetsuit designs are rooted in years of scientific research led by Shark Researcher Rob Carraro. The concept draws from extensive observations of Great White shark behavior and hunting strategies, particularly in shallow beach areas. After five years of research and testing, the Fader technology has been patented in Australia, the USA, and South Africa, with more patents pending.

Unlike large commercial surf brands, Fader is built by divers, surfers, and shark researchers who prioritise safety and sustainability over profit. Many of our collaborators are parents who surf themselves and want effective protection for their families in the water. Our designs are focused on providing flexible neoprene wetsuits that not only enhance performance but also contribute to ocean safety.

Our mission is to deliver UV-resistant wetsuits that meet the needs of surfers, divers, and water sports enthusiasts, all while supporting environmental sustainability. We do not base our pricing on what surfers are willing to pay but instead on the safety and research that go into each product. We also actively support independent shark and marine research to further our understanding of these creatures and their habitats, ensuring the safety of both humans and sharks.

Backed by decades of experience in shark behaviour studies and aerial surveys conducted in partnership with University of Technology Sydney Australia and CSIRO, Fader’s designs are scientifically tested and built to withstand the rigors of the ocean. Our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and marine protection drives us to create truly ocean-ready wetsuits that are as effective in protecting the environment as they are in enhancing your experience in the water.
